Beach at Thorpe Bay

30 minutes before high tide,
force 5-6 SSW |
Thorpe Bay Beach is approx two and a
third miles east of southend pier.
There is ample pay and display parking
bays, a large
grass rigging area and up to 8 hours sailing per tide. The beach
faces south and is sailable in winds from west round to east. The
bottom is completely flat and has the same depth water for nearly a
mile out. It also gives great flat water sailing either side of the
tide but can be extremely lumpy in a southerly wind
